Top 5 places You Should Visit In Your first Week In Funaab By @thatnigeriangirl

1. VC's Lodge;

   This is undoubtedly the most beautiful and coveted building in FUNAAB. It is located in the part of the school where students are most unlikely to reach and with a long beautifully tarred road. Not surprisingly, most students do not venture to this part expect to register for their ID card and that was before the ICT building was erected. On your free day, you should walk down there with a friend, along with a bottle of chilled drink, take lot of selfies- with amazing backgrounds of course, and bask in the serenity created by this environment.

2. Senate Building;

    This is usually the scariest building in any institution due to the psychological meaning attached to it. The Senate building is located beside the motion ground, opposite the ICT building ‎along Muhammadu Jega road. It is a popular saying that anyone that's made to venture into the building on basis of any offence will most likely leave the school for good. Offences such as crossing the school lawn and examination malpractices are usually delt with on a higher level of seriousness. However, this building is not all boogeyman and it's a sight to behold. FUNAAB radio, the official radio station of the school is located within its premises and so is that department where every student must view, whether fresh or graduating; Exams and Records.

3. Library;

    Honored to have been named after the first VC of the school, 'Nimbe Adedipe Library sits gracefully at the heart of the school. Beautifully ‎constructed with an amazing view, the library proves to not only just be a lot library but one with concern for the effect of surrounding on assimilation. The library is a good place to go 'missing' and enter into a spiritual connection with the 'gods' of books. By books, I don't just mean Lehninger's and Engineering Mathematics, you can also lose yourself in its amazing collection of fictions, non-fictions and memoirs.

4. School hostels;

   There are currently three hostels inhabited by students and two new ones under construction. It is of no surprise that the school authorities dimmed it fit to erect new hostel blocks as most students struggle fiercely just to obtain a slot during hostel registration. This is as a result of the large numbers of students who find the school hostels appealing and conducive for school life. The Umar Kabir Hall of Residence for the males is located directly opposite Iyalode Tinubu Hall of Residence for females, along library close. Marble Lodge, another female hostel located along Muhammadu Jega road is the newest of all three and a beauty to behold. The two new hostels under construction are situated behind SUB, along the short cut road leading to the COLANIM farm.

4.Students' Union Building (SUB);

   Another building whose importance may have been paled a little by its location, the SUB is a spot very student would undoubtedly gets feel of. With tons of cafeterias, boutiques, dessert places and photocopiers, the SUB also serves as a spot most preferred by entrepreneurs within the school due to the publicity it automatically provides. The SUB is located along the hostel road and is the new social centre in school because all outdoor social events are going to be held here.

NOTABLE MENTIONS;

  • The new college of management science building.
  • The motion ground.
  • The unity building.
  • College of Veterinary medicine teaching hospital.
    There are undoubtedly other locations within the school that you would want to explore but take time to go through this piece,make use of it and enjoy your stay in FUNAAB.
